Canaan Bhutanese Church was established on January 9th, 2009. It was the intention of the three founding families to provide Christian outreach to the Bhutanese community living in Houston, Texas. The Church meets every Sunday at College Park Baptist Church.
CBC is a network of thoughful people who care about the Word of God and how it relates to our life here on Earth. The goal of this website is to provide a place where people can find inspiration and strength from a study of the Bible and the example of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Canaan was the land of promise for all the people of Israel.
Bhutanese are people from the small country of Bhutan, located north of China and southwest of India.
Church is the temple of God (Jesus Christ) where Christian people gather to worship.
Canaan Bhutanese Church is a non-profit organization operating under the laws of the State of Texas. All Board Members are involved in the administration of the Church.
First Anniversary
The Church celebrated it's first anniversary on January 9, 2010 with good fellowship, lunch and a delicious cake. Many guests from other churches were in attendance to help celebrate and prizes were given to Sunday School students for reciting memory verses. First place was given to Roshan Darjee and second place to Sabitra Darjee. Recognition was given to Hari Subba, one of the leaders of the Church for his work in the community. In addition other recognition was awarded to others who help during the services and to new Christian families who have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. Small token prizes were given to the families of Tika Ram Darjee, Bhakta Biswa and Kumar Rai. |
